About coaching

You already hold the answers. My work is helping you find them.

That sentence is the whole of what I believe about coaching, and it's worth saying plainly before anything else — because it tells you what these sessions are, and just as importantly, what they are not.

What coaching is

Coaching is a partnership. You bring the question, the tension, the threshold you're standing at. I bring focused attention, honest reflection, and the kind of questions that help you hear what you already know. We work forward — from where you are now toward where you are being called to go.

I coach from a place of deep respect for your dignity and your capacity. I don't hand you a plan to follow. I help you find your own, the one that's already taking shape in you, and I walk alongside you while you have the courage to live it.

What coaching is not

Coaching is not therapy. It doesn't treat mental illness, work through trauma, or reach back to heal the past — that is sacred work, and it belongs to a licensed therapist or counselor. Coaching is also not medical or clinical care. I am a nurse practitioner by training, but in this room I am your coach, not your clinician, and our work is not a substitute for the care of your physician or mental health provider.

And coaching is not advice-giving. I won't tell you what to do with your marriage, your vocation, or your next decision. I trust that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to help you see it clearly.

If what you need right now is healing, treatment, or crisis support, coaching isn't the right tool — and I'll say so honestly, and help you find what is.

Where I can help

My work is rooted in seven areas. You may recognize yourself in one, or in several at once:

  • Rooted in Purpose — for life's transitions, when one chapter is closing and the next hasn't fully come into view.

  • Rooted in Self — for reconnecting with who you actually are, underneath the roles and expectations.

  • Rooted in Faith — for the questions of meaning, calling, and the spiritual life.

  • Rooted in Caring — for the healthcare professional discerning their way through the weight and the calling of a life spent caring for others.

  • Rooted in Courage — for the threshold you keep circling but haven't yet crossed.

  • Rooted in Love — for how you show up in your relationships and to yourself.

  • Rooted in Growth — for leadership: growing into the person your work and your people need you to be.

The kind of things we work on

People come to me standing at a threshold, not in crisis. They're facing a decision they can't seem to make alone. They've achieved what they set out to achieve and feel strangely unmoored by it. They sense they're being called toward something and can't quite name it. They want to lead from a truer place. They know, somewhere, what they want — and they've lost trust in their own knowing.

If any of that sounds like where you are, you're in the right place. You already hold the answers. Let's find them together.
